George Roach Scholarship Fund
A snow sports scholarship fund was established in April, when George Roach passed away, to honor and celebrate his spirit, and commitment to young people. George served as the Learning Center Director at Anthony Lakes for several years. Thanks to the generosity of dozens of supporters both locally and from across the United States, we are pleased to report that over $8,000 has been raised.
Scholarships have been awarded to students to participate in the Baker County “Ski for the Health of It” program. We are now receiving applications for scholarships from students wishing to participate in ski programs from other School Districts who visit Anthony Lakes. The scholarship covers equipment rentals (boards, boots, skis poles) and ski or boarding lessons at Anthony Lakes. Transportation is handled through the schools or communities.
If you know, or are, a student who would not be able to participate in a school ski/boarding program without financial support, let us know. We will make sure applications are available through your school. If you would like to make a donation to the George Roach Scholarship fund, please send your tax-deductible contribution to Anthony Lakes Ski Resort (Baker County Development Corporation). In the memo line note: George’s Scholarship Fund. All donations are tax deductible. Please send your donation to: 47500 Anthony Lake Hwy, North Powder, OR 97867
