NORDIC CENTER

  

Anthony Lakes Ski Area offers premier Nordic skiing in a spectacular setting. With 29 kilometers of groomed lanes and 11 km of single track and snowshoe trails, the Nordic area is a winter recreation wonderland. Now our Mud Lake Loop is open to all activities including your best animal friend and snowmobiles so be aware and courteous to those around you. Open Thursday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Nordic Center Lodge is a great place to warm up beside the fireplace, get a snack, buy your trail pass and purchase or rent Nordic equipment and gear. The historic landmark lodge was built by the Oregon CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) during the Great Depression. During summer, the lodge is managed by the Forest Service as a guest rental, offering wonderful views of the lake and surrounding granite peaks.

The Nordic Center has a small but expertly stocked retail shop, where you can purchase Nordic skis, boots and clothing at competitive prices, from people with the knowledge to help you find exactly what suits you.

LESSONS 

Sign up for lessons in either the Nordic Center or The Learning Center near the Main Lodge.  Beginner lessons are $35 and include rentals, trail pass, and an hour lesson.  If you already have your equipment the hour long lesson is only $25.  A private non-beginner lesson is $45. Great Weekend in The Nordic Center
January 7th and 8th, 2012 was a great and busy weekend for our Nordic Center.  Saturday we had a great turnout for Celebrate Nordic.  Many people were able to try Nordic and Snowshoe's for the first time and toured our trails.  Sunday The Elkhorn Classic was a success with quite a few people turning out for both the morning and afternoon races.  Stay tuned for more information on our next Nordic Event!

Anthony Lakes Nordic Center


Anthony Lakes offers some of the most amazing Nordic Skiing in the Northwest.  With 29 km of groomed and track set cross country trails, one can enjoy the Eastern Oregon beauty of the Elkhorn Mountains.  In addition to  breathtaking views and scenery, Anthony Lakes’ Nordic facilities offer plenty of challenging trails that consistently show you some of the best variety of trails in North America!   *(new this year- check out our Black Lake connector trail)

After skiing, visit the Nordic Lodge.  With a warm fire and friendly atmosphere, one can rest easily here.  The Nordic Lodge offers both Classic and Skate rentals and lessons.  Snowshoes are also available to rent.  The Nordic Lodge also serves locally roasted coffee from Sorbenots Coffee in Baker City, along with fresh baked goods and a few healthy choices as well.  Our retail shop has qualtiy x-country gear to fit your needs...stop in and check it out!  Oregon Sno Park Permits are required and are available for purchase at the Nordic Lodge ($26 annual & $5 daily).
