5TH & 6TH GRADE PROGRAM

Learn to ride or ski for a lifetime of fun!

Anthony Lakes Ski Area wants more young people to take up sking - just for fun and fitness. To help make that happen, we offer a special program for 5th and 6th grade students on Sundays beginning January 8th, who receive a lift ticket, equipment rental and lesson for free when they present their school identification or a copy of their most recent report card to register. In addition, one parent or adult accompanying the student to the ski area gets their lift ticket for just $15 for the day.  Sign up on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in The Brown Bag room outside the Retail Shop.  We can not sign anyone up after 10:00 a.m. due to lesson times.  Each student must have a signed waiver from a parent then gets a rental card to take to the rental shop for free rentals.  Then meet for lessons at 10:15 a.m. in The Meadow.  Once the student has completed their lesson they can ski or board the rest of the day. _________________________________________________________________________________________

 ANTHONY LAKES SENIOR GROUP

A program for seniors run by senior instructors!

Are you past the age of 50 and think it is too late to learn to ski?  Wrong!  Boomers and Seniors meet every Thursday for skiing together. (Your lift tickets are half price every Thursday!) We meet in the cafe of the main lodge at 9:30 a.m. Coffee and pastries are available in the cafe. We welcome all seniors regardless of your skiing ability. An instructor is on hand to give free pointers. For those who have never skied and those who want a refresher, we can help you get started with lessons from our “Senior Specialist” instructors, who are trained especially for teaching seniors; just $15 for one person or two people for $10 each. Come share your stories and experience, meet new people, and have a great time!

Friday ~ Ski for the Health of It

Anthony Lakes Ski Area has created a way to entice more young people to choose skiing for a lifetime of fun and health benefits. The ski area developed a program that takes advantage of the four-day school week adopted by Baker, North Powder, Union, and Cove and provides an economical and chaperoned activity for Fridays in January and February.

For all schools in the area, Anthony Lakes offers lessons, lift or trail pass, and equipment rental for a total cost of $30 per student per Friday, through the 8-week program.  Students from Baker City or Haines can ride the chaperoned school bus. All students are required to take a weekly lesson, after which they are free to ski the rest of the day. Arriving buses will be met daily by the Ski Patrol to discuss safety issues and remind all participants of the Skier’s Responsibility Code. .

Ski For the Health of It is for 4th through 12th grade students. Younger students can participate if they are accompanied by a parent or adult. The ski area is recruiting volunteers to chaperon on the buses and will happily offer special incentives to these important program contributors.

Anthony Lakes Ski Area is very excited to work with the entire community to put this great educational program together. Please direct any questions about the program and how to participate to Operations Manager Trish Brinton, 541.856.3277 X16 or tbrinton@anthonylakes.com.      Registration form
